One Piece Ambition: Gacha Fail

One Piece Ambition.

A game that promises to be the most visually appealing One Piece game in nearly a decade. A game that could have fulfilled One Piece fans' dreams. But this is a gacha game. We can't even play this gacha game.

That's correct, folks. Not even the Japanese, the creators of One Piece, can play this game. It is exclusively available in China.

Arcsys and CC2, two studios known for their high-quality fighting games, could have created an excellent One Piece game. However, it appears that Bandai Namco has burned bridges with Arcsys, and CC2 is most likely linked to Hinokami Chronicles 2.

So, unless you have a Chinese phone number and a good understanding of Mandarin, you're out of luck.

The animations in this game are simply stunning. Chinese animators and artists are among the best in the world. However, they frequently struggle to receive the recognition and funding they deserve, particularly when compared to the anime industry.

It's incredible how advanced the 3D animation in gacha games has become. Some of these games feature animation that rivals, if not outperforms, traditional anime. It makes you wonder why we can't get high-quality anime like this.

One Piece Ambition is a bittersweet reminder of what might have been. A testament to Chinese animators' incredible talent, as well as a sharp critique of the gaming industry's priorities.
